Waste Hauler Recycling Information
Diverting waste from the landfill and putting it into the recycling stream helps the environment and saves you money on your waste disposal costs at Boston Mountain.
Boston Mountain offers discounted rates for haulers that collect residential curbside recyclables separately from trash. We provide labeled green bags for #1 and #2 plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and steel cans, blue bags for paper and paperboard. Cardboard can be collected separately from the bags and put into the designated tote at Boston Mountain’s hauler recycling drop-off area.
The price for each 30” x 36’’ bag is $0.50. If the hauler removes the bags of recyclables from their vehicle and puts them in the designated area, the hauler will not be charged for the volume brought in. For bags not purchased from Boston Mountain or if Boston Mountain staff must pull the bags from the transfer station, the hauler will be charged the full disposal rate.
Haulers may also bring in mixed recyclables and put them in a designated trailer and be charged $31.02/ ton for this service.
We only accept sorted recyclables for free.
Customizable recycling education is available for haulers to put on their website, social media, and/or hand out to customers. Education materials are available in both English and Spanish.
Waste Hauler Licensing Information
Solid waste haulers are required by law to be licensed by Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, if transporting waste within Washington or Madison Counties.
